I guess I have seen pics of this orchid, but never before seen it in actuality ; I was surprised at how small it is.The canes are no more than 6 inches high, and the flowers an inch and a half from tip to toe. I asked the dealer ( I bought it at a show a month ago, in flower ) if this is normal and he said yes . Then I looked it up in IOSPE, and Jay says flowers from 2-4 cm . Thats spot on - mine is in fact at the bigger end of that range. Long lasting, sometimes nicely scented. I have a bunch of apparently mature but unflowered canes, and a couple of new growths of different sizes. I think it might be quite a pretty thing , if it likes my treatment and flowers on a lot of canes at once. A good addition to my Den. species. I like to have something a bit different.

It is one I need to acquire. I opted for the other antelope type, Den stratiotes , which is on the medium to large side. My bad!

    Nicely grown, Geoff!

Nice... I think the plant is a bit malnourished. You can see that the yellow leaf on the oldest cane is actually much longer than the ones on the newest bulbs. Antennatum usually gets up to 3-4 feet (90-120cm) tall, and even more.

It is a really beautiful dendrobium, even if I usually don't like small flowers
