You can take the pot to the sink and water it may be twice a week or water whenever the velamen turns white. My growing conditions, I water them almost daily.

Svetlana I am definitely leaving this one In the pot. So far it has also stayed inside but it is closest to the window. I have the small Vanda outside under a tree and have been worried about it. The one outside Has been getting sprayed two to three times a day as the roots haven't been staying green very long at all in the 93 degree weather. The humidity has fluctuated between 68 and 87% outside. That one is in the basket with the wine corks but have thought about getting a clay orchid pot. We will see how it goes. I'm searching for a sign it's happy.
The flowers on the vanda have opened but are a bit misshaped. I'm hoping it was just stress from over four days in a truck sitting in a dark box. One did blast. Name: image.jpg

The amount you need to water would depend on growing conditions. If you keep in pot, it probably would need less water. Also, the more the light level and heat the more the watering needed. During the growing season I know I am watering properly when I see the roots are growing and a healthy green. Sometimes my roots have turned a darker color which tells me the plant may be getting too much light.

    Monica,
my vanda is outside now , I am on Long island, NY , so humidity ranges from 40 to 60 on average day. roots stay green after watering for only half an hour! I water two times (morning and evening -before and after work) sometimes more in the evening and there is no way for me to water more often. Plant looks ok. When you say root turns darker color did you mean tip of the roots? On mine tips are purple but it also has dark purple flowers.
How often do you water your vandas, we do understand we have different conditions since you grow in green house.

I can only water once a day. Greenhouse is very warm but there is high humidity and air movement from oscillating fan. I noticed when the light is very high for a long period of time the tips of the roots change to a dark purplish color. When I see this I change the location and the roots go back to green color and the plant appears healthier. I am not sure if the darker colored roots is a negative thing.

I pulled my small Vanda inside this evening because the root tips to me look brown. I'm not sure it had good growing tips when I got it but they definitely do not appear to be getting better. I sprayed with superthrive yesterday so hopefully things will turn around. There was more shade but our neighbor cut down a tree in their yard on Sunday which made the spot I picked a little less shady. There is another spot in my yard that may work which doesn't get as much sun at all. A greenhouse for me is still several years away.

I find the Vandas I have growing outside thrive when grown with direct morning sun, shade during the hottest part of the day, and evening sun. I also found that if the roots are somehow protected more from the sun, the roots grow better. In my greenhouse which is just an inexpensive pop-up, I had to watch the amount of light they received. I check each plant regularly to see how it is growing and change the location usually to less lighting when it does not appear to be growing well. i have about ten different varieties growing in the greenhouse each receiving different kinds of lighting. I haven't killed one yet so I guess I am doing okay.
