Default NOID mini cattelyas - recent acquisitions

I tried to grow the mini catts back in the early 1970's but had very bad experience with them as they were not tolerant of the higher temperatures of our lowlands. Most of these had Sophronitis particularly S coccinea in their parentage and were very heat intolerant and all perished without ever blooming. I've had on and off flirtations with a few of them since but all ended in failure. But after seeing those gorgeous minis from Roy, I'm giving them a try again. On my recent visit to the Cameron Highlands I bought these NOIDs at RM 18 (US$ 4.50) each. At these prices I am willing to take the risk NOID or no. Most of these blooms are about 3 inches across.

Wow. great selection for RM 18. Just notice some minor color break on petals on 2nd photo. is it normal or is it just me?

you're correct, Sriram. This one was selected in bud stage so the colour break was not evident then. This is destined for the garbage heap.

Pretty catts. Too bad for number 2. It is lovely. But the dark red one is spectacular!

Great selection and worth to try again all 3s are very beautiful Mr Yew. I'm also collecting Catt species not all are willing to flower at our lowland climate , I will wait patiently.
