First, my apologies for my lack of knowledge of scientific names etc in regards to this type of orchid. I have only one dendrobium and unfortunately over the years it has lost its name tag. I do have a question regarding the plant but first a brief history of our time together. I purchased the plant in bloom approx 8 yrs ago. Despite my lack of knowledge concerning its watering cycle, I did rebloom it the following year. Then...nothing for the next 3 yrs but new shoots and leaves. I then chose to divide it because of the numerous stalks and leaves that it had. I got an extra plant out of that move (smaller) but again no blooms. I put the plants outside last summer (shaded, south) and got more green growth. This summer again outside with acclimatization then full south facing sun. I now have 2 flower stalks on the mother plant. These are coming right out of the tip of the stalk/bulb. I believe this to be a deciduous dend. because, the leaves do yellow and fall off the stalk. My question is, do I stop watering at the end of this month as the online experts suggest? I have flower spikes, the first in 6 years, I obviously do not want to lose them. How should I proceed? Thank you in advance for all help. B
PS: From reading an article here, I believe my Dendrobium is of the "hard cane" variety. The flowers came out on sprays from the top of the cane. B

    Hey Bdog-
You should start a new thread asking the question, with pictures, of the one you are asking about. You'll certainly get an answer by doing that. Especially the picture part. We can't ID or give proper culture advice without them.
