Bsn. (Bc.) Maikai crossed to various small Cattleya types tends to look a lot like this. This is not Maikai, but that could be the origin of Maki on a haphazard label. One of the most commonly seen crosses of that type is Bct. (Bc.) Little Mermaid (C. walkeriana x Bsn. Maikai), and a pretty good match for this. Another similar one is Bct. (Bc.) Punakea (C. Lulu x Bsn. Maikai). Little Mermaid would be my first guess, but with many similar hybrids both registered and unregistered possible, there is no way to be sure.

    Hi Kirk,
Feedback appreciated .. How are your Paphs doing ?? I struggle to keep mine going.. Upgraded the shade-house, so I might just try them again.

I downsized to just a few favorite Paphs several years ago, I just wasn't happy with the light limitations in my current apartment, but I'm in a building phase again with hundreds of seedlings doing well under lights now. I'll need to figure out how I'm going to sell some next year. Also doing well with a variety of miniatures and some not-too-large Oncids. After 40 years I need to keep trying something new to keep my interest up. I'd probably go a little crazy with a shadehouse in Barbados.
