I've started (today) printing the info on the name tags on to my pictures. Can't remember what the flowers look like anymore if they are not in bloom. Its a drag getting old. I got this plant in spike (1) last year and it ended up being about 4' long. They are shorter this year at about 2'. Flower is the same size though at about 4" across. Three new bulbs grew through last summer while it was hanging in a lilac tree. They produced spikes with two buds each. I was putting the plant back after watering in December and missed the chicken wire. As it fell I grabbed it out of the air and snapped off one of the spikes. Last week I was putting it in the tub to be watered and knocked off another bud. Something to do with depth perception I guess. Thought I'd post before I broke the rest. As I said, its a drag getting old. You should be able to see in the shot of the plant that only one bulb is getting new roots. Not enough sun for the others. The weather man is calling for snow so that situation should improve.
I started putting the names on the pictures for the same reason, old age is a bitch, but each morning I awaken I am glad that I did. Great Laelia cross!!
I've been putting ID's on the plants, matching ID's in a notebook and pictures in the notebook... The name of the flower (if I have one) I try to name the file with the plant name. I don't get my Phals to bloom every year, they all look the same, I forget which is which.
