    ..actually 18 but only a few as far as my wife knows. One was this Vanda that is more stem than plant. 2' from the pot to the 1st leaf. How safe would I be to cut it off part way up when the flowers finish? I don't have much luck with Vanda's but Conchita is from the Philippines and waling-waling is a national flower so thought I'd give it another go. And the price was right.

    Chris,
    You can cut that stem but only if you have at least 3 or more good growing roots above where you want to cut, when you reposition in the basket or pot make sure it is secured and does not move around in the pot or basket. Vanda's like to be stationary.

    Wait till the blooms are finished. When you cut the stem make sure you clippers are sterile!

    Looks very nice. I see more blue vanda (coerulea) in this vanda. I would concur with Jack on the suggestions
