    Default Vanda inspiration!

Just a little inspiration for today. My friend recently visited Jamaica and went to a vanda grower's home. Here are just some of the pictures of vandas growing and thriving in full sun!

I don't know about you, but I am having serious vanda envy right now. Enjoy!

Sheryl, quite possibly. My cousin, who used to have a beautiful orchid garden with lots of vandas at his house in Jamaica, explained that he would dig a trench/hole in the ground and line it with coconut fiber, then fill with rocks and charcoal and put the vanda cuttings in there. So technically they are in the ground, but not in dirt. They are something though aren't they??

Very interesting, Monique. And yes they are definitely beautiful. I agree with Sriram that if I get back to Jamaica, I would love to visit.

Since I don't live in Vanda environment, I can only envy all Vandas.

This turns everything I thought I knew about Vandas on its head: instead of baskets trailing long roots this guy has them growing like lilies or something. I'm amazed!
