Default Cattleya intermedia var. alba SAM

Another division I got last spring. Had three new growths this year and all have sheaths. I had to cut the sheath to release the only bud that matured. Any advice as to how to improve next years count would be much appreciated. What the heck did I do wrong!

Plant maturity is the only way to increase flower count "BUT" this plant does what it wants to do. My plant put up 15 new growths with only 5 sheaths. One to 4 flowers. Another plant at a show, 1/3 the size of my plant had 6 - 7 heads of flowers, 2 - 4 flowers. Other plants had one or two sheaths on medium size plants, 1 -3 flowers.
There is a or some pics of the plant in this forum I think.

Thank you Roy! So, you're saying its a weed? I like the "molded in wax" look of intermedia flowers.

Chris, if not a weed, the next best thing. By the time it finished growing last year it had put up 20 new growths.
It's started now & has 7 or 8 matured growths & 4 sheaths so far this year with a quantity I haven't counted coming now.

Chris, this pics shows the start of the 2nd or 3rd flush of new growths on my plant. You can pic the earlier growths by the freshness of the canes.
    Yep, a weed.

Yours looks very happy. I need to repot mine along with many others I did last year. Put some sphagnum in the mix because they were seedlings or new divisions. That broke down really fast and left a lot of my plants sitting in mush.

    Default A weed?

Sorry to keep posting in your post Chris but I though in using the term weed in referring to this plant, I'd add a fresh pic of the plant from today. The other pic was from last year, a difference to now?

No problem Roy, I learn more that way! Small wonder the grower I got this from has a good supply.
