    Vibrant colors! It's really a nice surprise when all of a sudden you see an orchid flower, not realizing that it had bloomed.
    I have my orchids spread all around the house, so it happens to me once in a while.

    I had divided an orchid once, and threw some of the cuttings into a compost pile and whadayaknow ... it kept growing and budded. LOL!

    The one that really surprises me are the Plumerias. You can take a cutting and stand it upright against a tree with the cut end on the ground and the thing will flower!
