Vandas want high humidity - I've shied away from them in the Northeast, because unless you have a greenhouse, it's just not moist enough to keep them happy.

Strap leaf vandas and ascda would not be a good choice for an apartment, year round. They require very high humidity to stay healthy. Most also get rather large and it would be difficult to give them the higher light levels they like in the house.

Thanks for letting me know before I spent the 70 dollars on one. I suppose if I had a large enough wardian case or glass tank or something, but since I dont. Its sooooooooooo pretty!!

Ok, so Vandas are off my wanted list for the show. Unless there are any mini vandas I can put in my vivariums?

Very pretty Mikasa , love the color .
I have the Mikasa Pink and the Blue , both were in the house in an east exposure and bloomed well. Watering is messy they are now in the green house, very reliable and not fussy . Gin

Hi, I really like your picture. Can you please email it to me as a JPG or something. I only want to use it as a desktop background/screensaver. Thanks.
