    Default Dendrobium Enobi Purple Splash

I just purchase the first plant in picture (in bud) because I loved the color. I didnt realize I had one already which also bloomed. Have to say the first plant is nicer. Hope I can grow the one I already had so that it looks as dark pink as the first. Uh, I probably won't. I find Dens to be a little tricky.Name: Den enobi 3 - 1.jpg

I am not sure what you mean by hard or soft cane. I mean sounding like an idiot here

It's a 'hard cane'. Normally 'hard canes' grow stiff and upright while the 'soft canes' are are pendulous ( very loose description). unless their owners stake them.

Thank you Yew-Sung... I was asking because I've been told the hard den canes are harder to grow here in Queensland....

I really like this! Looks like somebody took a paintbrush and carefully painted each petal.
I'm really not into Dens, but this one is an exception. May have to look for one!

So- called hard cane dens are not hard to grow in Queensland if you really reduce watering in the cooler months. In my sub-tropical climate ,I would probably only water once every month in winter depending on the temperature.I also have a plastic top on the shadehouse which means rain is not a factor. Some less cold-hardy dens may drop a few leaves but they will bounce back in spring.

Thank Elldee for the information, I don't have a shade house, but will definitely try my hand at growing the hard canes... Drat! I could have bought them at last weekends Orchid show.....
