    BD,
How about the Lc. Angel Love (Lc. Angel Love = Lc. Puppy Love x C. Angelwalker, registered in 1988)? A nice clone of this cross is "Pink Panther". Julie, could you please check your databases and see the parentage of this one, as compared with the Lc. Angel Heart and check to see there are other Lc. Puppy Love progenies? The Lc Ann Akagi is also a strong possibility. It was registered around 1991 so if BD has the plant around and before then it's not it. The Ann Akagi also has more yellow on the throat.

I also include a few pictures of the Angel Love that I found while poking around. Well other pictures did not load. Some have darker pink color quite similar to BD's pictures.
    Cheers. Hoa.

Lc. Hsinying Skies actually looks closer in lip form and coloration (Puppy Love x Lc. Sierra Skies. It was registered in '98 - I don't know if that's too recent or not, BD.

There are actually 58 registered Puppy Love crosses, and only a handful have pictures. Ann Akagi is crossed with nobilior, not walkerania. And definitely not Angel Heart - that has a white splash stripe up the middle of the petals on the half dozen different pictures I have.

BD, I can't post any pics from Orchidwiz, but I believe you have the DB. Check out the photo for Lc. Hsinying Skies. It's the closest I've seen.

    Hoa,

I figure we got the plant in or around 1991 - 1995, before we moved to Arkansas. So it is at least 11 years old.

    This photo looks very close!!

    Cheers!

    Julie,

It had to be before 1995 when we got this orchid. I feel certain that it was between '91-'95. I also know at that point we only got orchids in bloom so that could mean it was a bit older too. The Orchidwiz DB is at the society, I have Wildcatt (no photos). I did google the Lc. Hsinying Skies and found a bloom similar, but it did not have enough yellow in the center.

    Cheers!

This looks very close. I think our has a bit more blue tint to it, but it could be the lighting in the photo at the link. Do you guys think it is the right one? Should I put a tag in the pot with this name?

    Cheers!

Do you have Orchidwiz, BD? The Lc. Hsinying Skies has the white to yellow shifts in the lip, just as yours does (Ann Akagi is not the same), and it has the darkening just at the tip, as yours does.

Still, with so few photos of all the offspring, I'm hesitant to state it definitively. Hoa seems to be on to the lineage, but there well could be a closer match.

Diane, the Orchidwiz database is based on the AOS and RHS registrations. While I have found a couple of glitches, it's usually accurate. I'd question a personal Website as to the actual cross first, but that's not to say Orchidwiz isn't wrong. It's useful, but not stunning in its thoroughness of photos - we could see ours!

    Just saw these lower posts!

I think Hoa has the right parent, but I don't think we have the right cross yet. (Just my two cents...)

    But always fun to explore!

    Hi you all,
I think that we are getting close. I have to go so can not post a long message. The problem with BD's catt is that it has stronger pink color and the throat is mostly white and pictures of Puppy Love crosses are lighter pink and more yellow on the throat. The stronger pink may come from the parents of the Puppy Love, C. Dubiosa. But C. Dubiosa has very narrow petals. The lip of BD's catt suggests it has walkeriana lineage while Puppy Love does not have it. So what if it is C. Dubiosa cross with a walkeriana?
    Cheers. Hoa.
