Named for my wife, (of course). The cross is Neofinetia ( which is now a vanda) falcata x Vanda Blue Boy . The latter is Ascocenda Medea Arnold x V.coerulea. So when I made the cross it was a in a vandaceous genera, name forgotten, started with Naka ....But when the whistle blew, and someone shouted all change, it became a Vanda.
The hope of course was for something like the Neo' , but all in blue . Blue Boy was in fact blue. But with complicated parentage like this, nothing is certain, and that Ascocentrum blood ( as it was then) is very dominant.

This plant survived my overheating problems 3 or 4 years ago, but has not flowered much since. I discovered it today , going through a line of hanging plants up in the roof of my growing space, with 3 spikes - one yet to open. It is in a 5 inch basket.

I still like it, having long ago got over my disappointment, because of how it turned out, when I gave away or threw away all but two or three plants. In fact, I think it improves, as it ages.

It's beautiful Geoff! Why would you throw them away? Well at least you gave some away as others can enjoy it!

Isn't nice to have your own hybrid. Blue hybridization is difficult because blue is a recessive trait. Shouldn't throw away though...
