Default Cattleya Angel’s Fantasy ‘Solar Flare’ FCC/AOS x C. Beaufort ‘Luna Rousse’

Hey everyone. Sorry I havenít been around much but I fried my laptop with some coffee and there are no funds for a replacement. I have chronic tendinitis in my hands and itís much easier for me to type than to navigate and text with my phone. My extended family are also stuck in the horror that is Panama City, FL. Just been really bummed out in general and feeling helpless. Anyway, this one bloomed for me a month or more back. These blooms already faded but there are two more coming on another growth. First bloom for me. I will include a photo that includes a sibling for people who are interested in the differences in seedling crosses. Hard to believe they came from the same seed pod. I culled the smaller one, as well as two others of my six from this cross. They were all a bit thinner leafed and kept coming down with fungal/bacterial issues in my conditions. I am left with the three hardiest ones, two of which have not bloomed yet. Anyway itís a cheery little thing. Hope youíre all doing well. Robb

Thanks for sharing the sibling picture. A living evidence of sibling cross could be different. I would believe they are siblings because the smaller flower one is looking more like Cattleya Angel’s Fantasy ‘Solar Flare’ FCC/AOS, while the bigger looking more like C. Beaufort ‘Luna Rousse’.

Second blooming of number two here, now known as Cattleya Bella del Caribe. Blooming in much cooler conditions really brought out the red tones.

I agreed. The more yellow one looks washed out by comparison.
