A first flowering of a plant which came from Brazil in May this year. Has grown well, but of course only limited roots so far. 3 flowers,9.5cm natural spread.
Durigan was registered by someone of the same name , and different clones have so far clocked up an impressive 73 awards by different bodies around the world. This clone got AM/AOS when shown with two spikes each of 2 flowers, measuring 11cm spread - quite impressive.
But it is a very variable cross - the shape is always the same, but the background color ranges from light green, through yellow, orange and pink, to this one here. The end of the lip varies from pink almost to blue. But always spotted, more or less. I have another two clones , not yet flowered. I shall look forward to them.

19 different Cattleya species in this one (registered in 2005) so potential for much variability.
