Default Cattleya Bella del Caribe #6

Cattleya Bella del Caribe # 6 finally bloomed. Last of all of them. Much smaller blooms and more pastel than the other two Iím keeping from this cross. I will try to nurse it past some cold damage and see how it does in the future. Iíd like to see the color change in warm weather and if it will put on more than two blooms per spike.

A nice colour combination. I don’t want all my plants to bloom with the same colours, so anything different and with a reasonable shape etc, I personally would keep. Even if one does not have quite as many flowers as it might, there is always next time, when maybe it will do better. Patience and optimisim go a long way with any gardening, I find. Or am I just a born sucker ?

I like the softer shade and the shape is nice. The flowers arenít that small either considering the plant is only 4-5 inches tall. This one was the smallest and least established plant of them all. In fact I didnít have high hopes it would make it but it has come a long way slowly but surely. It has another growth maturing right now so maybe it will bloom again soon. Thanks for the words of encouragement. You know how it is when you put so much work into them. Theyíre like my children at this point.
