    Default Vanda's "happy" vs. "sad"

    V. Harry Wayne Casey
saved from a life in New Hampshire when near death. Still sad but fighting to make a comeback now that it's where it always wanted to be. Even sprung a keiki so maybe it's going to make it.

Both are very nice! Always feels good to see a sad plant recover.

It is amazing how some orchids want to live on and will do what they need to survive. Good job on the recovery!

Nice Vanda's I think to save the energy better you remove the flower on the first photo let it's preparing to heal himself.

I am down in the Sarasota FL area - my wife and her sisters had a "cousins reunion" - a few they haven't seen in 40+ years. It was hosted by one cousin whose wife grows orchids semi-seriously. She's originally from the Philippines, so loves them, but is a doctor, so has no time.

She has dendrobiums attached to her palm trees that she literally never waters or feeds, and they all bloom like mad..Ditto for reed-stem epidendrums in a front flower box. Her vandas and a few other types are in the lanai around their pool, and she said they "may" get watered once a week with a hose, and dunked in fertilizer maybe every 6-8 weeks.

Proof positive that if "the rest" of the key growing conditions are very well met, being a little slack on one or two others is not a serious issue.

Very pretty Leigh! My Adisak Happiness only blooms once a year in late spring. Does yours flower often?
