Bought 6 months ago as cv 'Elizabeth' - which is a strong yellow. Could well be a Hazel Boyd - of which there are very many cultivars- Orchidwiz list about 60 of them. One is Royal Scarlet, which maybe this one is. maybe...
I have another plant, so far unflowered labelled as Royal Scarlet ( from a different source) - when it flowers, I'll check. In the meantime I am calling this one var. 'Valentine's Day' - for obvious reasons.

It is one of those colours impossible to photograph. I see it as the darkest possible red, with a hint of blue. It has a velvety texture, too. Quite small flowers, only 7cm, which may be due to the usual factors of not properly established yet in my collection, in which case it may improve as time goes by.

But whatever it is, I do like it.
