Flowering on two growths, with a total of 12 buds and flowers. Individually not large - maybe 7cm each flower, but such strong colours, and looks to be long lasting too.
The only tiny fly in the ointment is that the name seems a bit dubious to me. Little Magician as illustrated in Orchidwiz is a clear yellow, not this strong orange colour, and moreover has a much wider and rounder lip. The clincher is that I can see C.aurantiaca ( Gur. auriantaca) ( did I spell that right ? ) so strongly in this plant. The height of the bulbs, the multi-flowered habit, the proportions of the lip ; but Little Magician does not have that species in its background . It does have coccinea, and L. briegeri, which would account for a small flower size, but there is nothing to account for the colour or the flower count. You do not expect 7 flowers on a spike of dowiana, luteola, mossiae, etc - all of which are significant in the true Little Magician.
Whatever - this just me being a fuss-pot again, I suppose.
After all, what's not to like about this one !
But , of course, if you think you know what it really is , or might be, I'll be glad to hear.

Very puzzling. I agree with your assessment. Your mind sort of goes immediately to aurantiaca when you see this one.
