I have several examples ofthis species. None flowered yet. Said to need more heat than most - which is perhaps why. But with another summer like last year, then maybe....
All this weekend we have had gales - 60 mph winds , which whistle and moan in our chimney. Forecast to continue all the week - mad March they call it. My greenhouse is glass with plastic bubblepak on the outside as extra heat saving insulation. The plastic breaks down in 5 or6 years due to u.v. Light, and mine is over 6 years now - the wind s tearing it up and distributing fragments over the neighbourhood, which might make me unpopular if the locals realised where it was coming from. Fortunately they will not guess . I hope !

I agree with you more heat and light is the preference of this species in a year at least 3 to 4 times I can enjoy his beauty.I also facing the same thing the winds here is so strong until the black netting splitting and allowing more direct sunlight and end up with burning leaves of my vanda's. Mother nature is amazing.
