Default Cattleya skinneri oculata f. alba

And last but not least is a plant I honestly believe is the best plant I own.
I blew this up last year because I had several friends begging me for divisions so I did the deed because it was outgrowing the 14" bulb pan I had it in. So not as many flowers as past years (were probably 200 last year before it was divided) obviously but still 5 spikes and probably 3 dz. flowers. Between the irridescent flecks in the flowers and the very faint hint of purple, it is just an absolute work of art!

Very nice plant this. I have 3 or 4 of it. Very easy on the eye.
It's C. skinneri v. oculata or skinneri v. alba not both.

    You're right Roy.
It's oculata. It had both on the original tag it came with and I just cut and pasted from my spreadsheet.
My guess is original owner added the alba (it's a homemade tag) just so he'd know it was white.
I'll make a new tag and dispense with the invalid info.
BTW- I have 2 different clones of v. alba and neither has the "purple haze"

This is what I would hope for if the label said var. albescens - but then, skinneri is not often seen here, and the only varieties I have ever seen on offer are Hetty Jacob, and Casa Luna. This is far superior to anything I have seen here.

    Is it fragrant?
Oh so beautiful with or without fragrance but that would be a topper!

Thanks for the positive feedback gang.

No, it's not fragrant Mike but I'm OK with that!
