That is so stunning! I just acquired one, and I intend to mount it. I am thinking cork - what is yours mounted on? I also have tree fern bark poles. Mine is young - only 3-4 pbs.

I suggest cork. That’s what mine is mounted on.

Very little water from end of November till mid March.

Without realizing it is a cooler grower, I just bought a 4-5 pb plant, but I live in SW FL. So now I am really concerned about the temp. I can

A- leave it outside and risk 90+ temps
B- try it in the house 77 deg during FL heat, but light will be limited to a SW window
C- try it in my terrarium, which is currently 2 x 100 W CFLs (so 26 W each?), where it has humidity at 80% and house temp. I can hang it directly under the lights.

I am thinking 'C' during FL heat, and then in the winter move it outside.

    Advice, please?

    TIA, Carolyn

I consider it an intermediate grower actually. It wants a dry and cooler winter, that’s the main thing. Cool in this case means above 45 deg F but not much more than 60 - 65 deg F during the day. In the summer it likes temperatures around 80 - 85 during the day. I suggest you protect it against higher temperatures in the summer.

Thank you Arne! Into the terrarium it goes for the hot summer, and then it can come back out in the fall when it gets cooler.
