Better shape than my other mokara's. The reverse photo was to show it actually has a branched inflorescence, maybe from the Arachnis influence.

Wow! Great color. And very interesting about the branched inflorescence - I don't know if I ever would have noticed that.

I cannot recall ever seeing a branched spike in a vanda of any kind, including Mokara. But I cannot recall ever seeing an Arachnis, either. So, good growing here I think.

Thanks! Regarding the branching, sometimes you get lucky. I've had Dendrobium biggibum (hard cane type) with a habit of making branched inflorescenses, but never seen it on other ones.

Thanks! Regarding the branching, sometimes you get lucky. I've had Dendrobium biggibum (hard cane type) with a habit of making branched inflorescenses, but never seen it on other ones. One of my vandas even put out little tiny hairs that would circle the roots to help it grip bark, rocks, etc. At the time, it was invading one of my cattleya semi-hydro pots. I showed it to some of the local vanda 'experts' and they had never seen such a thing before on a vanda of any type. I guess it was happy growing where it was.
