Default Not sure the tag is right

This lovely bloom opened a few days ago. The plant is in a 4 in pot, which is how I purchased it. The tag reads:

Lc. Love Knot 'H&R' x Bl. Morning Glory 'H&R'

The flower just isn't quite what I was expecting based on the tag. About 5 inches, with a subtle yet clear floral fragrance.

I would say that its likely the tag is wrong. There is a lot of laelia showing in that bloom and from what I can see of the plant there as well

it does look like a purpurata labellum... and the petals and sepals looks like it's from anceps.. hmm, i wonder what those two make....

I thought that the plant was looking like Laelia gouldiana

There is a lot of Laelia in that one, but I've just looked at both parents. When I saw Love Knot, I thought no way based on form, but the Brassolaelia Morning Glory could easily bring all that influence back in.

Colors are right on for both parents. Unless you've reason so suspect it's mistagged, I'd say it's right.

Well, I see Julies point with both parents being half laelia... but the color is a surprise, and I guess I was expecting more nodossa influence. But either way, I'm very pleased with the flower. The fragrance is intoxicating this morning!!!

I have no clue when it comes to compact catt breeding...but it does have a nice solid lip.

It's a beauty Diane the color is so nice and clear. This is a picture of my morning glory that bloomed this past spring, I think that I see a little family resemblance.

Wowza! That's the darkest Morning Glory I have seen. The ones I've seen were just a faint pinkish wash on the petals and sepals.

    Diane and Cin,
Both are great blooms! Good color!
Personally, I see lot of nodosa in Diane's hybrid, although these features can be taken as laelia features as well.
    Cheers. Hoa.
