    Default Schomburgkia/Myrmecophila Brysiana

I didn't see any Schomburgkia pictures around here, so I thought I would add one for the people who never seen their blooms. Keep in mind, the spike on this plant was about 10 feet tall! Enjoy

The flowers are about 3-3.5 inches across. The plant that this spike is on is a large plant, ussually the spikes are around 6-8 feet. They also bloom successivly. This one has been in bloom for 2-3 months now.

Huge spikes, successive blooms, alien looking, I think I am in love! Ok, this one, or one very similar goes on the list.

I talked to a friend earlier about a cross that I made with this flower to see if it had been made before, and come to find out that this flower is not a Brysiana. This flower is a Christinae. I was happy to hear that because Myrmecophila Christinae was first collected in 1998, and is a relatively new species. There are quite a few mislabled Christinae/Brysiana out there from what I was told. The person who told me about this specializes in schomb/myrmecophila species and hybrids!

Let me know if you can't get one. I have probably 2 each of 6 different color variations of tibicinis. I also have alot of big brysianas in different color variations. As well as 2 of about every schomb/myrp there are. Collect them has been an obsession of mine the past few years!
