So I decided to PM Aaron to let him know why I hadn't bid.

Well...Aaron doesn't accept PM's. So after writing up a lovely note to him and having it rejected, I was back to square one. Then I looked at the plant another hundred times, and thought I really could hang it off something that's already hanging.

I thought $10 would still be a great price for it. But again, I didn't want to drive the price up too high if Bruce was really set on it and wanted to counter my offer. So I thought a modest approach would allow for a little back and forth.

This is so funny! Talk about auction angst!
I think it's about time we had a thread on creative ways to warehouse orchids in the home of our own McJulie! LOL!

Don't worry, Mehera, I'm installing eye hooks across all my ceilings!

    Thanks so much, Aaron!

For PM's, you need to look to the upper left on the light green menu bar and select User CP. Down the left side of the screen, select Edit Options under the group Settings and Options. In the center of the screen, under Messaging and Notification, is a light-colored box called Private Messaging. The first checkbox enables PM's. At the very bottom of the screen be sure to Save Changes.

I haven't received an e-mail advising of the PayPal charge for the orchid & shipping. What do we do now?

I got the PM thing fixed. Now I can't figure out how I can close out the auction! I looked at the FAQ's, and just about every where else that I can think the answer would be. As soon as I can find a way to invoice you I'll send it right over to you.

LOL! No rush! If this guy just bloomed, he won't be doing anything for awhile. You can take your time!

    Hi Firebird, and welcome!

As long as your message isn't advertising, or mentions any specific vendors' names, check the forum headings to find the appropriate category for your thread. All photos come under the "Photography" group of forums. Ailments, culture, general talk, etc each have their own forums.

Once you're in the right forum, there's a start a new thread tab in the upper left of your screen. If you want to add photographs, make sure your jpg file is no larger than 700 pixels on either dimension. The go to Manage Attachments to select the file to include. There's a preview function to make sure you have what you want, and after you post, if you spot a problem, there's an edit button that allows you to tweak until you're satisfied.

    Have fun!

Okay, since you guys and gals could not figure out how to buy the orchid from Aaron, I guess he will just have to send it to me! LOL!

Seriously, I did not realize anyone bid against me. When did that happen? I was reading this thread and saw Mehera's quote of Pipers post and I had to go and check. I cannot believe I lost to .75 cents! LOL!

So, the total is already taken care of McJulie. All you have to do is log into Orchidbids and finish the transaction. After you login, the page that comes up will show what you won. Just click through until it takes you to paypal. That should do it. Aaron listed shipping at 7.00 so that will be included in your total when you pay him. That is all there is to it. After you pay and he ships, be sure to leave feedback for Aaron.

    Cheers!

    Julie,

That plant might developing a new spike quietly, you better hurry up. My Den. griffithianum keep sending out one spike at a time. I left my first one dried up, now I am getting my 4th one, and it looks like more to come.
