    Default Encyclia diota var atrorubens

Had this for a couple of years & this is the second flowering.
Plant is in s/h & gets intermediate conditions with highish light year round(grows next to my Paph roths).I do give the plant a dry rest soon after flowering until i see signs of new growth or root growth. It flowers for a very long time , it has taken nearly 2 months for most of the flowers to open(there is 25) & last year they stayed in good condition for over 2 months.

    Flowers are about 1 1/2" across(no scent)

Spike is over 48" high(still growing).

Beautiful flower. Spikes like that, while impressive, are why I generally don't even try many Encs, Epis, and Oncs.

I love the color too, Steve!

But that spike! Yikes! Don't let Aaron ABro see it...he'll be stalking your stalk!

Beautiful flower of a elegant color! One thing about that spike--it doesn't crowd the flowers.
