Default Slc Ginny Champion 'Prince' -- bit disappointed

Yes it is a faithful bloomer, and I do like the colors but it does appear that my move last year screwed up its timing, as I feared. I've had it for what seems like forever and it always bloomed in October for me. The perfect color for autumn and Halloween. Sigh but as you can see it is early this year. Kind of a bummer that.

I don't usually care for shots done w/ the flash, but this time they actually looked pretty good. Oh, and surprise, surprise [I know you'll be shocked Julie ] .... it is a minicatt.

    Very nice, Pavel!

It looks much like a Richard Mueller cross I have, so I looked up its parentage. It's a cross of two primary hybrids. It's 25% of each of:

    Catt. bicolor
    Catt. luteola
    Laelia cinnabarina
    Sophronitis coccinea

The last two suppling the deep redish-orange color.

October? Shouldn't be a problem. I'll be grossly disappointed if it doesn't make it til then. Halloween? Extremely unlikely. I'll be amazed [and thrilled] if it makes it that long.

Wel once its done blooming Di, I may try chopping out the back bulbs. It is currently at the very rim of its 4" pot [which means it will be exceeding its space allotment]. So if you're interested -- and assuming I find the time & motivation to divide -- I can always look at putting it back pbs up for trade.

Which reminds me, I have a couple of other catts I need to get in gear & divide so I can put the divisions up for trade.
