    Default Vanda Question

I couldn't believe my luck today. I went shopping at a local discount store and I just happened on a new shipment of orchids. They all were in excellant shape, many with buds and no flowers yet. Well, I was looking through them (drooling as I went) and I happened upon this beauty. Now I am pretty sure it is a ascocenda and not a vanda as it is not even a foot tall and the blooms are small. My question is when it quits blooming can I put it in a basket? I can provide very bright sunlight all winter long except on cloudy days. I can also give it good warmth and if need be I can water it every day and mist it daily too to keep up the humidity. If I put it in a basket do I put any medium around it?

The next picture is of another beauty that I got. This Dend. has the deepest purple red. I sure wish I new the names of these, they are so pretty. I bought three in all, the other one is a Mtdm.

Default I guess it depends on whether you can provide adequate humidity.

In the Philippines and neighboring Asian countries like Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia we can grow them bareroot.

Some of our experts might be able to assist on the growing requirements better...

however, I believe your Dendrobium is Black Dog 'Lakeview'

Thank you very much Tim for giving me that name. I'm always happier if I can give a plant a name.
