This little beauty is on bloom right now. This guy blooms 3-4 times a year. Just made a cross with this flower and the splendida that I posted a few weeks ago. Hoping to get a nice mixed flower with a smaller staure then the schomb, and a long spike.

It's great - it looks so '60's art style!

I really love this flower alot. It really hasn't been used that much in crossing as far as I know. Also the foliage has a tendency to have alot of purple spots on the leaves. Which is typical of some catts, but this plant has more then any particular one that I have seen.

it's a cracker!! Totally intense colours!
I would have thought it's flowering habit would have been utilised more... we need more Catts that's in constant flower![]()
Gaudy Gaudy, I Love it!!!

This ain't no dress rehearsal
Greak color! Do the petals get more of the yellow background in the winter bloom? I know some of the spotted phals we have change the spots depending on the temp when they are blooming.
Cheers!

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box!! OrchidTalk is a world community. Celebrate our Diversity!
The yellow pretty much stays the same. Although I have never really noticed, and will be sure to make a note of it over the next season.

You're right Aaron - there are only four registered crosses. It's been crossed with : Brassavola nodosa, Brassavola Jimminey Cricket, Bl Richard Mueller, and Bc Binosa.
She's very striking!

The funny thing is..... I have all of the crosses ever made with this flower, and know who made most of them! He actually sold me this plant, and it was very very expensive. But it has proven to be a very good stud plant, and blooms so much that it was worth the money after the first year I had it.

Very cool!
“If nature were not beautiful it would not be worth knowing, and life would not be worth living. I am not speaking, of course, of the beauty which strikes the senses, of the beauty of qualities and appearances. I am far from despising this, but it has nothing to do with science. What I mean is that more intimate beauty which comes from the harmonious order of its parts, and which a pure intelligence can grasp.” - Henri Poincare
