My jenmanii has set a sheath. I waiting to see if it's going to do anything more than that.

    Default Thanks ;)

    Thanks, guys!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Todd: growing catts in Hydroton is really the only way to go. I started doing this about 2 1/2 years ago, and it quickly became my preferred potting method. Repotting is just way too easy and I hate breaking good roots. To repot, I usually just soak the pot for about 10 minutes and gently slip the plant out into a larger pot and add more media . You just have to make sure and feed the plant well as the media has zip! I water my catts in Hydroton with the same solution I use in my s/h pots.

    Oh,

..and thanks, Quing. Your methods of producing a nice bloom presentation with gravity is quite interesting...I have another Catt just coming into bloom so I'll try that and report on the results.

Julie: Hydroton is really cool. Just a small clay pellet made from the same material clay pots are made from, I think. No rot, no compaction, totally inorganic. I really don't have to worry about when to repot using this method and I don't have to dig my fingers through a mass of roots, which is the best thing Also..use plastic pots for all but the really wet/dry lovers..I'm trying some tolumnia in hydroton in clay pots come this spring (I have a couple of mounties now..which are becoming a pain)..
