I have 10 of these that are in bud right now. I bought them to resell, mostly. These plants seem to thrive on putting out multiple spikes. Most had 0-2 spikes when they arrived and most now have 2-3 spikes. These are the ones I asked about recently if anyone thought I should post them on the auction site.

Diane, I believe the name is straight Aurelia Franklin and is a memorial name. Here is a link to an article about her husband and how the plant got its name.

Also, if you search the web on that name you will find it listed with various clonal names as well.

Steven's right about Aurelia Franklin. Only one cultivar has been awarded: 'Chadwick' won an HCC/AOS in 1998. A golden yellow flower with faint red spotting.

I was surprised (pleasantly) to see that there are more yellow varieties. The picture I have from my purchase indicates a yellow flower with heavy green undertones and the red spotting. Could have been poor photography.

It's a lovely phal, you should list them on Orchid Bids... VERY easy growing and the flowers are really lovely and very long lasting. they did start out with a little more green in the background, but matured to wonderful yellow with red freckles.
