I love the tiny Latouria types. Got this a little over a year ago. First blooming for me. Kind of hard to photograph...
Pretty white blooms!
Lovely hint of purple in the white bloom, Clint. Is it potted in rock?
Very cute. Wouldn't last a month with me...
Very pretty. Can't help but notice the nice plump pbulbs on your plants!
What method of watering do you use?
Wet to bone dry on almost everything. Root health (especially on older p-bulbs) directly correlates to p-bulb plumpiness, I think...
It is planted in rock and only gets watered twice a week when I notice the p-bulbs start to shrivel. I think I've come to the point that I'd rather plant an orchid in something that doesn't rot and just pot on. I even have phals in Hydroton...(My shilly is just about ready to pop)...
I don't weigh the pot or stick anything in there any more to determine degree of dryess, I let the "look" of the plant tell me. Are the leaves and p-bulbs glossy and plump? Are there ridges or pruning? Your plants are the best judge of when they need water.
Very nice, Clint!
I have johnsoniae, but it's a lot smaller than your plant.
Very nice and I like the Burr. Nellie Isler in the background!!
Are you sure your johnsoniae is smaller than this one? The largest p-bulb on mini-snowflakes is only 8" tall. I have D. Roy Tokunaga (johnsoniae cross) and it could eat this one for lunch (largest cane about 20" tall).
I thought johnsoniae was a much bigger plant than abberans....
..and Ron...Nelly never disappoints!
