Catt wakeriana alba. This palnt is ancient. When I got it many years ago, it was already an old plant. Gotta love the fragrance.

very nice! I had that clone once and the flowers were wonderful...does your plant produce one or two leaves per pseudobulb, and does it flower from the top of the bulb or from individual "flowering growths" (or both)? The 'Pendentive' that I had was very confused, doing any combination of the above...

Well, Jason. My plant blooms from the top. what I have heard about this plant is that there was only one alba form of walkeriana ever found. this plant has been selfed many times and if you get an offspring that is not one of the first, you run into those problems as well as the alba form to start adding pink to the flower with each selfing.

interesting...I would imagine that the cloning process could potentially introduce mutations, but selfing I'm not so sure of. All of those paph delenatii arose from a single plant, and at least for that species, the offspring were very homogenous.

I found a Brazilian grower who talks about walkerana vs. nobilior:

miranda orchids

The Pendentive I had alternatively threw one and two leaves, and sometimes bloomed from the top of a regular pseudobulb, and other times bloomed from those unusual flowering growths with tiny leaves. The funny thing to me is that if cloning introduced atypical plant growth into pure walkeriana, it oughta introduce atypical flowers, but the flowers were still superb...
