WOW--reblooming a Dendrobium. Something I too have not yet done. This time I kicked them all out of the house for the summer. I doubt they'll miss me enough to bloom, but it's worth a try. Good Job!

Ron, Den aphyllum is the accepted name for pierardii, so it is!

Bruce, it's great to have you back, but you've been busy around here! I now have just shy of 100 new posts! I can't be alone...

6 pages? They don't allow access to the internet in Australia? I thought 70 posts was bad just from not logging in from 1 day.....

Thanks, Kitty! The buds are cute. Don't worry, they'll grow quickly! Make sure the plant gets plenty of water and fert at this point.

Congrats on getting yours to bud. What exactly did you do since you posted in Feb?

    Julie,
When I got the plant in Feb., I just didn't know what was going on. Two canes had all their leaves on them, but if there were any buds, I couldn't see them. Then the leaves all fell off over about a two week period, next season's canes began to pop out of the bottom, and buds began to form on the older canes (oh so tiny ones). I don't think i really did anything to it to get it to bud; I think it was on its way there when I got it, I just couldn't understand how it was going to bud. Now my new canes are about four inches long, and my buds are drooping about an inch down. What a funny plant.
