    Actually a hybrid of C. bowringeana x prosthechea cochleata(Encyclia)
    Unfortunately only 2 flowers on this it's first spike.
    Definitely 1 for the vini paph lovers.

    WOW! I want one like that. I love the dark purple color. I agree with you Becky, I think it should be called 'Black Widow' or at least something to do with a spider! I it!

    That is a great flower on that plant.

    It's a very interesting shape, although it does sort of remind me of a big eye on legs.

    Actually they are slightly bigger than my cochleata(which is mature & the PB's are about 10 times bigger but has many many flowers).

    She's beautiful. How are you growing it? Mount? Pot? I would love to have this lovely. I'm still struggling with my coch to get her to live. Please tell us your growing secrets!

    It is growing in bark in a pot.When i bought this it was very root challenged so i did not risk it in s/h.Conditions are the same as my other plants & are grown intermediate , after flowering i rest them.Basically no fert & water once a month until new growth starts.
    I do grow some of mine in s/h & they are treated the same.
    Light levels are greater than Phals .
    They do grow very easily for me , wish i could say the for Zygo's.
