    was surprised to see a solitary bud on this first bloomer. hopefully more on the next growth.



    Registered in 1885, the primary hybrid Lc. Canhamiana is almost as distinctive as its illustrious species parents. Many cultivars have been awarded through the years, including the "blue" form 'Azure Skies' in 1997. The plants are easy growers under standard cattleya conditions, and reliably produce heads of 5-6" flowers at maturity.

    yes, Canhamiana is L purpurata x C mossiae. a classic primary that comes in all the usual color forms.

    I saw this one today at a local show, it was one of my favourites there. The flowers are absolutely stunning 'in person'. I think it might have to go on The List
