    Default Schomburgkia Albopurpurea

This little baby is in bloom now. This specific plant is Albopurpurea, but is also called Thompsoniana minor. The only difference between the 2 is location. Albopurpurea is specifically from the Caymans, and Thompsoniana minor is from the Bahamas/Jamaica, and else where in the caribbean. This is a nice clump of Albopurpurea, and there are very few people I know of that has clump of this size in their collection. This was gift from my good friend Paul Storm, and was wild collected in Caymans only last year. Enjoy
Edit: I also forgot to mention that if there was a "mini" in the schomburgkia family, this one and thompsoniana minor would be considered the "mini's" of the family. The psuedos are only around 4-5 in, and the flowers are about 2-3 in across.

That is a beautiful plant. It looks very happy too

And I also fully support recycling old baskets/pots/driftwoods. They are still good for something after their original life. People just have to look at them from a different angle

That is so cool. Adore the intensity of the lip colour, and the slightly tattered petals.

The mountings also nice. I support recycling 100%.

Thanks all! I can get you a schomb thmpsoniana minor x thompsoniana if you would like one Clint. They are seedlings, but they will be small like the albo in the pic. They will also have pretty much the same flower as the one in the pic. Just let mo know if you would like one. I give it to you because I still have some seedlings left over.
