I'm going to the market in town tomorrow to see a guy about some orchids and he has some of those mini-dens'. Are they easy to grow?? What kind of environment do they like? I may come home with one, this would be good to know. (i'm just full of questions today)

The section Oxyglossom (which includes laevifolium) is considered difficult to grow. D. cuthbertsonii is probably the most difficult to grow.

There are several "mini-dends" that have dend phal in their parentage that would be as easy to grow in Florida as weeds are. Look for D. biggibum var. compactum hybrids.

This one is requires constant moist, but it is much easier than Den. cuthbertsonii in terms of culture, and is heat tolerant. I mounted it on a piece of drift wood and put it in a 40 gallon fish tank and spray it twice daily. It is constantly blooming with each bloom lasted more than 4 months.

    Here is the mount
