    For all that kinda asked- my cheap orchids came from Publix Supermarkets. I work there, but my understanding is that if they have no spike or no blooms, they can not sell them for full price, now whether or not all Publixs mark them down that much or not I couldn't say, but if you find one with no blooms, go ask the Produce Dept. if they will mark them down. Good luck.

    Beautiful color on that dendrobium. Congratulations.
    I have pretty much given up on looking for names on any dendrobiums that I buy with no tags. There are probably hundreds of unregistered crosses out there that it is nearly pointless to even try.

    I noticed that you had the garden shears near the plant. I too found that placing garden shears next to a non-blooming orchid seems to coax it into blooming

    It might depend though how much of a hybrid the plant is. If it's a complex hybrid it might be more inclined to react to a weed-whacker than garden shears.
