Default Blc. Chunyeah x Blc. Pu Lung

Stopped by a box store yesterday and to my surprise, found this beauty sitting on a shelf. The over all plant is a little too leggy and big for my likings (the leaves and pb's are over 2 feet tall!) but I couldn't resist the gorgeous orange and magenta flowers. The picture doesn't do it much justice, the colors are much more vibrant in reality. (Damn camera pone. lol)

You got this in a box store? We can only get catts in specialist nurseries here! Nice find! Judi

Oh yes, they had all kinds of orchids (even a PAPH! I was completely shocked). Lots of miltassias, and other onc. alliances that I fell in love with but all too large of specimens for my liking. I didn't realize orchids are such large plants lol

Unfortunately, Kelly, if you are restricted in space as I am, you quickly discover how may really neat orchids ARE large plants.

Oh I'm quite restricted and I've already begun to learn that lesson. However, my theory is just to just divide if I get a large plant with enough bulbs and give the cuttings to people. Friendly, and space conserving!

I love the floofies, but as you say above, they take up alot of space. If you shove them together though you can fit more on the shelf.

Geepers, if that was taken using a camera phone, it must be one stunning flower or you have a really modern phone :-)

Nice pick up from the box store! And remember where there's a floof, there's a furniture (like a fridge) that can be moved outside to give you more space

Well, both actually! lol My phone just came out a few months ago and the camera really is quite good...although the flower was so impressive as well! The plant is, however, deceased. I unpotted it and it didn't have a single root that wasn't rotten and the pb's were going black. Didn't feel like trying to bring it back, when it probably wouldn't have anyway. I did enjoy the flowers for the time though
