    A slightly-over-the-hill specimen. From the Mt. Pinatubo area of Luzon, since then all covered up by the 1991 eruption.

    oh wow, what an amazing flower! The purple is wonderful!

    So does this mean this one has gone to orchid heaven or just the area where it is found?

    The entire region has a lahar blanket many meters deep.

    ok, guess that means it's not good for the area.. or is it? does the layer of lahar make the soil richer for agricultural purpose?

    would this plant be used for breeding purpose to increase the population?
