    Default Vanda luzonica

    Endemic to the Mt. Pinatubo area, sadly now all gone.
    The spectacular eruption in 1991 covered everything with lahar.

    Is it still widely cultivated? The flowers remind me of Rhynchostylis gigantea.

    They are all in collections, very few offered for sale nowadays. A month ago when two of my plants were in bloom, I did a V. luzonica x V. luzonica, and a V. lamellata var remediosae X V. luzonica.

    The plants are very pregnant now, lol....

    This is the other white Vanda. The white vanda with few color and much smaller colour blotches is Vanda javierae, also endemic to the Philippines.

    Such a pretty flower! The splashes of pink on the white background surely will mean many people will fall in love with it and would want to have it in their collections!

    This looks like its gonna be like the V coerulea. Rare in the wild but flourishing in collections. It is spectacular!
