Talking i finally have buds, what do i do???

ok my ? is... my dendrobium has filnally got the spike and now has buds. but the sun is getting really hot during the day now here in dallas tx and wondering if i should move it to a shady spot or something since it has been getting full sun all morning up in till 1230 or 1:00pm i do spray every morning and on my lunch break. but just wanting to know how i care for the buds that have not flowered yet? is it ok to mist them so they do not get to hot? and all the other leaves on the other canes are turning yellow all over.. guessing to much sun or maybe taking all the nitrients from the canes and leaves idk lol thats why im asking all u great orchid lovers> its my first orchid i ever had and never got it to bloom over the last 2 years up in till now
so wanting this to come through yay hope yall can help.

K.C. This goes for ANY orchid...don't spray, or mist & then let the buds/plant be in the hot sun. I am in N. East Texas, and I know the sun is really strong here. :-( Although my vanda in in the sun until 11:30, I water it in the early morning so the leaves have a chance to dry before the sun hits them. Yellow leaves are not a good sign. If it was mine, I'd put the den. in a shaded area, but with high light. Just my thoughts on your budding den.....Betty :-)

Depends on the plant itself. Could be a week or a day, or ten days. Just be patient, and it will happen. A little blossom booster helps to get more & bigger flowers. I like Peters 10-30-20 ( 1/4 the amount stated on directions...once a week.) Good luck. And yes, my passion flower plant has those catapillars also. Mine is lavender/ purple. Betty :-)

Dens. have canes, whose purpose is to store water. Hopefully, the place where you have the pot sitting is NOT IN THE SUN. If the pot has good drainage, I don't believe that watering every three to five days will hurt, especially in Texas! However, since you are getting yellow leaves, watch the plant closely, because yellow leaves can be a sign that something is wrong. ( rotten roots from too much water...) Just be patient, it will bloom for you. Betty :-)

yeah I burnt the lil thing up and so up set lol. all the old canes and leaves are yellow with a few burn marks on them . and pretty much all leaves are banana yellow, except the new growth which the spike is on. that cane looks good. will it hurt to just put it in full shade till it blooms.. I have shade or full sun or could I just bring it in? I have a window with nice morning sun till about 11 or so. but worrying about the change in temps.. sorry to be so difficult

Hi K.C. No, you're not difficult. I think that IF THIS WERE MY ORCHID, I would bring it inside , put it in a humidity tray, and put it in the window you mentioned. However, if you want to put it in the shade ( no sun, just bright light ) that would be O.K. too. Good Luck....Betty :-)
