Thank you for sharing all these wonderful flowers.. lovely to see a pic of you too... it's always nice to 'see' who we are getting to know on here.

The slipper orchid is Paph argus... a native filipino species.

Also, post 3 pic 3 is an Australian native, the bottlebrush tree, Callistemon sp.

and i've just fallen in love with that red passionflower (Passiflora manicata)!

    hi tim,
    you are welcome!
yes, i actually would like to "see" more people here, so why not posting a pix of youserlf? or is there another thread for it, if not we could start one to introduce each other?

thanks for the info, the paph was quite easy, but the rest???
filipinos also called it bottlebrush, wasnt sure if it was a common name, but didnt know it was an australian native, thanks for that!

yep, the jamaican passion (as they call it here) got me 2!!!

Oh, you are making me homesick! I lived there for almost two years (on Negros and Panay). Illongo ka ba? It was incredible the "weeds" that would grow there, let alone the cultivated plants--they just love the place.

Those are some gorgeous plants. So did any of them follow you home?

No, I'm amerikana but like I said, I lived in the Philippines for quite awhile and really enjoyed it. I hear you on the waray. Believe it or not, I never really learned Tagalog because where I was most people spoke Cebuano, Illongo or one of the smaller dialects. I understand Tagalog, but I am pure Visayan.
