Default My Production of Yonkers - photo heavy

Here are some shots from my recent production of LOST IN YONKERS.

Lost in Yonkers (1991), a play by Neil Simon. Widower Eddie Kurnitz leaves his young sons Arty and Jay in the care of his cold, ill tempered mother who runs a candy store in Yonkers. Grandma not only makes life miserable for the two boys but also verbally abuses her slightly retarded daughter Bella and scoffs at her small time crook of a son, Louis. Bella finally stands up to her mother and life continues on with an icy understanding between the two.

    Shot of the Full Stage.

Jay and Arty trying to figure out why their dad is bringing them to their mean grandma's house.

Aunt Bella and young Arty. Bella tells the story of the dress she made (all by herself) It took her two years to complete it.

Grandma wants to know "Who's the smart one!" Arty quickly says it is his brother Jay.

Arty has a bit of a fever, so Grandma made hims some 'German Mustard Soup' to scare the fever away.

Bella comes in late from 'the movies'. Grandma hears part of her story.

Grandma demands that Bella 'Give her the movie magazine - she pays for everything in dis house. Give it to me!'

Uncle Louis (small time crook) shows up and has a mysterious bag that the boys think is full of money that could help their pop.

Bella begs her mother to let her marry her new boyfriend, Johnny. She wants to have babies with him and open a restaurant. Grandma is not pleased.

Stained glass window that I designed with a few orchids. heheehehe... you know me.

I designed the scenery. My students did the costumes, lights, props, makeup, and graphics. I hope you enjoined our production photos.

    Cheers,
    BD

The stained glass has faux orchids in it. lol. It also has two dolphins at the top left and right and a manta ray at the bottom behind a slipper orchid. hehe....

Thanks for all the nice comments.
