So far, everything he planted is looking great and blooming like crazy, so I'm going to stay optimistic about this beauty.

Does anyone know approximately how long the blooms last on these?

first of all, i love the black\white background shot, stunning!

yes its a ground orchid, very easy to maintain and a sturdy one, never mind the rain unless its flooded, lol.

it keeps on blooming like this for about 2 months, so enjoy!!!

I am quite sure it is a Spathoglottis plicata hybrid.

    Thanks Nelson!!

All I know is it's just gorgeous.

Darren, nice job with the photo. Did you use photoshop? I use CS2, but mainly do just regular, minimal editing (resizing, shadows and highlights, levels, etc).

I just recently found out about the joys of the patch tool, and the shadow/highlights tool. Sure does make things easier, huh?

I've tried neat image several times, but have never mastered it. I'd like to though, because noise drives me crazy.

That's very pretty, Anne! Your landscaper is a jewel. I've been looking for a spath but haven't quite found the color I want, but I'd take one like yours in a new york minute! Hope it does well for you.

    PS Darren love the pic!

I just got 2 of these tropical punches for 2.50 each! And they are huge. This thread is the only reason I knew it was an orchid! Thanks y'all!
