    Question Maple tree with flowers??

My girlfriend got this "tree" as a gift from a friend. I thought it was a red maple tree...then it sprouted these amazing flowers. Currently the "tree" is up to the eaves on her home. Would anyone know what they are?? I would love to be able to tell her...she's always helping everyone else and baking for everyone. It would be nice to help her out for a change.

I know Heritage Perennials up in the Ontario green belt and eastern states have a few varieties like this one, Rose of Sharon is a common name and Hardy Hibiscus is the type
not to be confused with the ones called Southern bell hibiscus

It doesn't have a Rose of Sharon leaf. My guess would be flowering Maple. I usually see photos of flowering maple trees with yellow or peach colored flowers.

It is not THE Rose of Sharon you are thinking of, but a hardy hibiscus that is also called Rose of Sharon hibiscus as a common name. Most likely a cultivar of Hibiscus syriacus.

Could it be a Kopper King Hibiscus?

Never seen that before. I would guess a Hibiscus of some type too.
