    Default Dahlias in my Garden

Orchids are by far my favorite flower. My second favorite are Dahlias. We are having a very mild autumn in Pa and my dahlias have been blooming like crazy. Usually by now frost has killed them and they have been dug and stored in the basement until spring. With all the buds yet to open I hope they can go another week or so. Here are a few of my favorites.

I love these Bill. I tried to grow some of these several years ago but I put them in pots. They got way too tall. haha.. I should try again by planting them in the ground. These you shared are so pretty.

    Cheers,

Beautiful, Bill. Dahlias and chrysanthemums are my other favourite flowers. A flowering mixed dahlia bed is something to behold - especially with dwarf types in front and the taller varieties at the back.

Very nice. My grandmother used to grow these; they always bring back nice memories for me!

It has been cold enough here that the dahlias in this area are starting to really look ratty. "Tis the season." Yours are lovely, Bill.

There are dwarf varieties, Bruce, that should work better for you in pots.

Thanks. I just do better with things growing in pots that I can keep watered. Next spring - I will try some dwarf Dahlias.

    Cheers,
